The design shows a small group of black panthers seated and turning to look at one another, a solitary panther perched on a branch above, and a vervet monkey hanging by its tail. Fine ink-style branches and leaves link the animals together, giving the whole print a hand-drawn, illustrative quality rather than a photographic one.
Because each animal is drawn at a good size, the panthers and monkey stay clearly visible from across a room rather than blurring into texture.
