The design is built from layered gold mandala and paisley shapes, each ringed with fine scrollwork and small floral bursts. One corner breaks from the gold palette with a pale blue filigree flower, giving the eye a resting point in an otherwise continuous, symmetrical pattern across the surface.
It combines deep black, warm gold and a cooler powder blue. The black grounds the pattern and keeps the gold from feeling overwhelming, the gold carries most of the detail and catches light well, while the blue section cools the corner and stops the whole wall reading as one solid block of metallic tone.
It leans traditional, with the kind of dense, symmetrical ornamentation associated with older decorative motifs rather than a current, pared-back look. It works well in rooms already furnished with some formality, such as a dining room with dark wood or a living room with heavier upholstery, rather than a stripped-back minimalist setting.
Judge it against the wall it's going on rather than the room as a whole. A small wall shows only a fraction of the repeat, so the design reads more like a rich texture than a clear motif, while a longer wall gives the mandala shapes enough space to be seen properly.
A pattern this saturated is easier to live with as a single feature wall than wrapped around a whole room. The gold and black hold up well as a confident focal point, but the same intensity on four walls can tire the eye far sooner than it does on one.
