IN THE LOOK BOOK: WATERCOLOUR WALLPAPER TO BRIGHTEN YOUR SPACE

Watercolour wallpaper goes beyond the usual abstract watercolour designs that blend and clash along a print. Watercolour flowers and animal designs in bright colours are a top trend right now. And these are some of our latest favourites.

Inject some character into a room with a colourful floral watercolour wallpaper, like our Katarina Watercolour Wallpaper.

With a wallpaper print like this El Salvador, you can add year-round spring cheer to your interior design.

Naturally calming, pastels are a lovely choice for a preteen’s bedroom. Flamingos are still super trendy too, so have a look at our Watercolour Scents Wallpaper.

African Orchids by local artist Georgina Taylor makes a bold statement with watercolours, while being highly detailed, too.

Fun fact: Who did watercolour first?

The three English artists credited with establishing watercolor as an independent, mature painting medium are Paul Sandby (1730–1809), often called the “father of the English watercolor”; Thomas Girtin (1775–1802), who pioneered its use for large format, romantic or picturesque landscape painting; and Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775–1851), who created hundreds of superb historical, topographical, architectural, and mythological watercolor paintings.
