Description
What colours are in this mural and how will they work in my room?
The palette runs from deep pine green through pale blue-white water to snow-white peaks, all cool and muted rather than bright. Cool tones like these tend to recede on a wall, which makes a room feel more open, and they sit comfortably behind warmer wood furniture or tan and oatmeal textiles without competing for attention.
Is this design too large a scene for a smaller room?
The mountains and treeline are painted at a scale that reads clearly from across a room rather than needing to be viewed up close, which is why it works best as a feature wall with some open floor space in front of it. In a smaller room it can still work well on the wall with the least furniture against it.
Will furniture placed in front of the lake spoil the reflection?
The horizon line and the lake sit in the lower half of the scene, so a low bed, sofa or bench below that line will cover part of the reflection rather than the mountains themselves. Choosing furniture that sits below the waterline keeps the peaks and treeline fully visible above it.
Can this mural be made to fit an awkward wall, like under a staircase?
Because it is printed as a single scene rather than cut from a fixed roll size, it can be produced to match the exact dimensions of the wall it's going on, including stairwells, sloped ceilings or other less regular spaces. You supply the measurements and the print is prepared to suit them.
Will the mountains and lake look stretched if my wall isn't a standard shape?
The image is scaled and cropped to fit the wall rather than stretched to fill it, so the mountains, trees and water keep their natural proportions. On a wall with a very different shape to the original scene, some of the outer edges of the image are trimmed rather than the whole picture being distorted.
