The design is built from deep navy-blue blooms set against a crisp white ground, with fine black linework and small gold-toned flourishes threaded through the leaves. Because the blue sits so dark against white, it reads calm from a distance but holds real depth close up, which suits rooms meant for rest such as a bedroom or a quiet reading corner.
The roses and peony-like blooms are painted at a medium scale, big enough to read clearly from across a room without swamping a single wall.
