The pattern combines black and gold brushstrokes over a white ground, with soft blush pink and muted sage threaded through the crossing bands. The black and white give sharp contrast that carries across a room, while the gold catches light and warms the scheme without overpowering the quieter pink and green tones.
The brushstrokes are broad and the crossing bands space out generously, so the design reads as a confident diagonal plaid rather than a fine texture once it is up. Only a handful of repeats are needed to fill most walls, which keeps the pattern legible from across the room.
The contrast and scale make it most at home on a single feature wall in a living or dining room, where there is enough distance to appreciate the crossing lines. It also works well in a hallway, where the bold diagonal gives a plain run of wall some presence.
The gold behaves more like a reflective neutral than a flat colour, bouncing light back into the room rather than absorbing it. This means a wall papered in this design tends to feel brighter in the evening than a matte finish in a similar tone would.
