Each repeat centres on a scrolling medallion, navy curls folding around a mustard star with a teal core, set against a cream ground scattered with smaller quarter-motifs. The design combines deep navy blue, teal and warm mustard against a cream background. It is worth running a bead of clear silicone caulk along the edges, since trapped moisture working behind an edge causes problems, not the print itself.
A smooth, evenly plastered wall gives the best result, letting the medallions line up cleanly across panels. South African wall finishes vary a good deal, from skimmed plaster to rougher render, and a textured or uneven wall is better skimmed first than papered directly, since any bump or seam will show through a pattern this graphic.
