The palette is built from deep forest green, a muted sage green and a pale mint background, with a thin blush line running through the stems. Together the greens read calm rather than loud, and the mint ground keeps the wall feeling open even with such large-scale leaves covering it.
It can, because the pale mint background stops the dark leaves from closing the space in, but the leaf shapes are large and read best with some distance to view them from. A dining room or a living room wall opposite the main seating tends to suit it better than a tight passage.
It sits somewhere in between. Half the leaves are solid, saturated green and half are left as outline only on the mint ground, so the eye has places to rest even though the leaves fill the whole wall. That negative space is what keeps a jungle-scale print from feeling overwhelming.
Johannesburg's daylight is quite hard and direct, and on a sunlit wall that pushes the deep green leaves towards a stronger, more saturated version of themselves. If the wall gets long afternoon sun, this is a palette that holds up well over time precisely because the greens start deep rather than pale.
It's supplied as numbered panels that butt together in order across the wall. As long as you unroll and number them as you go, then hang left to right, the leaves and stems align correctly at each seam rather than jumping out of step.
