The design sits in light grey with white mortar lines running between the bricks. Because neither colour is saturated, the wall stays quiet rather than becoming a focal point, which makes it easy to pair with darker furniture, timber tones or black metal fittings without any one element fighting for attention.
From across a room the uneven brick edges and tonal variation read as texture, not as an obvious building material, so it sits closer to a rendered or limewashed wall than a construction site. Up close you can see the printed detail more clearly, but at normal viewing distance it softens.
A few courses still read clearly on a shorter wall, but the brick coursing settles into its rhythm properly on a longer run, where the repeat starts to feel continuous rather than cut off. On a narrow wall it can look slightly compressed compared with how it appears across a full room.
Because the surface has visible texture printed into it, direct raking light from a nearby window will pick out the grain of each brick and deepen the shadow lines, while a wall lit flat on looks noticeably smoother and flatter. Position matters more here than with a plain colour.
A smooth, skimmed plaster wall gives the best result, since any bumps or texture underneath will show through the paper. If the wall has a rougher rendered finish, it is worth having it skimmed first rather than papering directly over it, particularly with a design this close to the surface.
