This scene sits in deep charcoal silhouettes against a soft grey-blue sky, with pale mist breaking through in white. The dark tones anchor a wall and read almost graphic from a distance, while the grey-blue keeps the overall effect calm rather than heavy, letting it work with warm or cool furnishings alike.
Because the trees are rendered as near-black silhouettes against a paler sky, the mural reads well even in rooms that don't get much sun, with contrast doing the work rather than bright colour. In a well-lit room the pale mist and light rays add a gentler, airier feel instead.
