Description
What's the scene in this mural?
This design shows a city skyline anchored by a tall, slender observation tower, rendered in a loose watercolour style with visible brushwork and paint splatters. Buildings of varying heights sit along a reflective horizon line, giving the mural a layered, hand-painted feel rather than a sharp architectural photograph.
What colours will I be working with?
The palette moves between cool blues and teals on one side and warm oranges and reds on the other, framed by plenty of white space. Because warm tones tend to advance and cool tones recede, the mural reads with a sense of movement across a long wall without overwhelming the room.
Which wall suits this mural best?
It reads most clearly on a wall viewed from across the room, such as behind a sofa or a desk, since the skyline detail and the splatter work are easiest to appreciate from a short distance. Being a single scene rather than a busy repeat, it won't compete with patterned cushions or rugs nearby.
Can this mural be sized to an awkward wall?
Yes. As a mural it isn't cut from a fixed roll size – the measurements of the wall are used to print the scene to fit, which works for standard walls as well as stairwells, alcoves and sloped sections under a ceiling.
Will the skyline look stretched on my wall?
No. The image is scaled and cropped to match the proportions of the wall rather than stretched to fit, so the buildings and tower keep their correct proportions. On a wall with a very different shape to the original artwork, some of the outer scene is trimmed rather than distorted.
